Ingredients:
- 1
- 5 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tablespoons sake
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions:
Mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl
This will make the teriyaki marinade
In a plastic bag that can be closed again, put the steak cubes and pour over them half of the teriyaki marinade
Put the steak in the fridge for at least 30 minutes with the bag closed so that the steak can marinate
Warm up the grill over medium-high heat
Stick the steak cubes that have been marinated on the wet wooden skewers
For 8 to 10 minutes, turn the skewers over and baste them with the reserved teriyaki marinade
Keep doing this until the steak is done the way you like it
Take them off the grill and give them a minute or two to rest before you serve them
If you want, you can serve the Teriyaki Steak Skewers hot with chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top
