These Ginger Sesame Tempeh Lettuce Wraps are a tasty, healthy vegan option that is full of flavor. Ginger, sesame, and soy are mixed together to make a tasty marinade for the tempeh. For a cool bite, the tempeh is wrapped in crisp lettuce leaves.
Ingredients:
- 1 package tempeh, crumbled
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
- 8 large lettuce leaves such as butter lettuce or romaine
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, maple syrup, grated ginger, and minced garlic to make the marinade
Add crumbled tempeh to the marinade and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes
In a skillet over medium heat, add the marinated tempeh mixture and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tempeh is golden brown and cooked through
Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the cooked tempeh and mix well
Spoon the tempeh mixture onto lettuce leaves
Roll up the lettuce leaves and secure with toothpicks, if needed
